Smile [Resolved] DOS USB Driver

First time here.

I have been trying every DOS USB Driver web site and help desk and I keep getting the same result. I have used the USB DOS driver mentioned here on several pages. I have been to bootdisk.com and used the DUSE driver. I get the same results.

When I boot from the disk, the DUSE driver loads, then it asks for location of COMMAND.COM. This file is on the A: drive. It is like it no longer knows that the A: drive that I booted from is there.

Thanks for your help.

As I said, I tried all of this, and after it loads the DUSE driver, I get an error:

"Please specify the location of COMMAND.COM."

It happens whether I use DUSE or any of the other drivers listed on these pages that you linked for me.

COMMAND.COM is on the diskette. I see it there when I look at the diskette in Windows, or in DOS when I boot without the DUSE driver. It appears as though the DUSE driver makes the USB floppy drive unreadable.

Hi there,

You didn't state why you needed to use a DOS USB device driver, however I will make the following comments;

1) Did you check with your motherboard manufacturer to see if there is an updated BIOS that will allow boot from USB?

2) Did you consider using a tool such as Bart PE? Bart's Preinstalled Environment (BartPE) bootable live windows CD/DVD

Thanks for all of your help. I finally got it to work by getting a 2.5 to 3.5 IDE adapter. It finally booted in XP, and I was able to transfer the data to my desktop, and then burned it to DVD.

Cheers.
