im not sure if im posting in the right place but a friend asked me if his mac can serve as an access point for wireless internet or if its only for file sharing between 2 macs...

personnally i dont know much about mac so i cant even say what airport is...

This is certainly possible, how much security it offers etc I don't know but you can share your internet connection by going to

System Prefs > Sharing > Internet




If an airport (the wireless card) is present it will allow you to share on that, it is not listed on mine as I don't have an airport card currently in there.
