That's subjective, I personally find the look of mac's annoying at times because its not consistant, you don't know if you're going to get a stripey window, a gray window, a metal window etc etc

Until you try and do anything serious, the cocoa framework is ***** (as far as i could tell, because their dev docs are even worse) and ever tried resizing a journaled HFS+ partition without having to pay for a partition tool such as iPartition [Disabling journaling and using a linux tool such as mac-fdisk or gParted doesn't count]?

Don't get me wrong, I love my mac, and it is [for the most part] stable, it being unix compatible is a plus also (though windows users get that with cygwin) but it's not all as rosey as the job's loyalists make out.

I would get a PC for software's sake.

I use a Mac for video editing reasons, but when my ol G4 is done for, I will just get the Adobe Suite for Windows. (expensive, so that's why I keep putting it off)

Also, keep your programs in mind. You have software that works just fine for Windows but you will likely buy all new programs for a mac...say CD burning software because the built in mac version is not all that great.

Unless..You wanted to make sure you get an Intel processor and dual boot it with Boot Camp. I hear that the dual booting works very well and lots of people are happy with it.
Just keep in mind that you can buy a PC equivalent of a mac for cheaper. Plus, PC is far easier to upgrade hardware than a mac is.

I'm Thinking about getting a mac any advice?
Yes I have some advice, don't.

Tell me this, WHY do you need a mac? All software (that I've ever needed anyway) are out on the PC anyway.

Plus they're closed units, you cannot upgrade them. If your video card blows you're looking at a new unit, not a new card...

Note, I don't want to turn this into a mac/pc debate.

But really, I don't get macs. And FYI I grew up with them and have used them since i was a kid.
