I do a lot of sound recording, my pc's packed in and now i'm torn between getting a mac or a pc. I've been looking at an imac 17inch 2hz duo 2 gig which i can get for £750.00 or and acer with this spec which is about £550.00. can any one help i know this is a pc forum .

If i was you i would go with the PC because of compatibility's sake. There isnt as much software for Macs and upgradability isnt too great. But i think the Mac's multimedia software is quite good although there is equivalents or better for PC.

Your choice though.

in my opinion.

Get a Mac. Hell of a lot less Viruses, many cool multi-media applications are now exclusivly availble for a Mac. Mac OS X looks a hell of a lot better than any Windows OS (inlcuding Vista) and Macs actually work without many problems.

it depends what your needs are really, entertainment and multimedia editing are the main highlights with macs. Yet with a PC you can do a lot more, if you keep a PC properly updated and ahev a the right maintenance and security measures in place you shouldn't get many problems.

Plus if your a PC Enthusiast who likes to upgrade and build like me and a lot of other people on this site (namely GaRHaR ) then your best off with a PC

Yeah it depends really, you'll get many different opinions, some people will like Mac better some will like Windows, really you just need to do some reading about each OS, and which one you think will best suit you.
