Found out that the key hole was to turn lock power supply from use. Lol, the people at Gateway 2000 must not have wanted their customers' little kids having spasms...anyway, I was playing around with DOS and Windows...found out that to get into Windows had to exit DOSShell lol, guess we really had very limited money then. Anyway when I first saw there wasn't enough memory to run Windows (w/ ms-dos and shell running) I wasn't thinking (it was prolly 1 am or so) and started deleting the stuff I was never going to use on it, i.e. excel, word, etc. so when I re-discovered how to enter Windows, all I could do was play Solitare...but it's okay, I love Solitare!! Okay I got way off subject of the beginning of the post, anyway I was trying to format a floppy, but all I really managed to do was wipe my hard drive and name it "Z:/"...lol, oh well...when I'm 18 I can find the 5.25" (that's the size they are, right? I never could remember what size the big ones were) operating system disks. Lots of big floppys lol...at least they're really floppy...I remember I think I saw them a looooooooong time ago in our old basement, but that basement was also known as our storage shed lol and they probably got thrown out sometime...darn. Anyway, I can open it and play around w/ its
mobo and mess it up :-D and take its hard drive out and just do random stuff...it's too bad I went delete-happy, It had a tape drive too :-( those hook up to floppy drives though, right? Lol Gateway 2000 made all the drives way bigger width than they needed; 3.5" was 5.25" and so was the tape deck...wow I'm good at getting off topic, I think I have ADD, because whenever I mention something (like I am now!!), I always feel an urge to explain it so thoghourly (or however you spell it) that I get this far off track...O.K.!! Back to being on subject!! Okay I find this amusing: it has four
RAM slots and two of them are occupied, right (this isn't at all related to it being funny)? Well, it has 2 chips that are 8 MB each (that was the funny part, in case you couldn't tell)...I guess somebody would laugh about us only having 2GB
RAM chips at the extreme largest...probably have TB
RAM chips lol...ANYWAY!! Thanks for all your suggestions when I was utterly and completely confused!
