Hi - My hard drive failed last week. Dell sent me a new hard drive, and I'm in the process of reinstalling everything. I had a fairly recent backup of my Outlook .pst file, so I thought I was in good shape with that. I clicked out Outlook 2007 for the first time, and set up my email account. I then pointed Outlook to my old pst file, and it brought everything back in with no problem.
Here is the problem: when I click send/receive to get my new mail, it is trying to receive over 2000 new emails, presumably from when I first set up the account? (not sure about that) It is pulling in all of this email that I already have, how can I stop this and only get the mail from when my prior hard drive failed? I looked on the MS support site, but I can't find anything about this. The email account that I have linked to Outlook is a comcast.net account, could it maybe be pulling everything from the comcast webmail site? Thanks.
