Question Help, UnInstall MS Office XP P

I have a similar problem (reference thread http://www.pchelpforum.com/office-so...tml#post390108)

I cannot get rid of my Office XP (2002/Office10) installation. I upgraded from Office Pro 4.3 to Office Pro 95 to Office Standard XP and have now installed Office Pro 2007 (I bought a full version of 2007 on sale - the last full version was 4.3 - the rest were upgrades). The 2007 said it would remove old versions but did not. I have tried different utilities, including the uninstall utility from the Office 2003 toolkit (ork.exe) and many files are removed, but it still shows in my add/remove program list. When I try to remove from there I get an error "installation source not availabe" - this is the same error when I insert my Office XP (2002) CD and try to do anything. My research says there are probably missing files in the installaton but I can't tell which. I would be willing to follow a specific set of instructions to edit my registry or startups or whateve to finally make the old one just go away, but I cannot find one that addresses what I need to do to remove the 2002 specific files (lots of stuff like that out there for 2003, though).

HELP?

This Microsoft KB314481 article may be of some help to you.

You will also want to be comfortable about editing the registry as well...

How to manually remove programs from the Add or Remove Programs tool

This proceedure removes the "change/uninstall" button from the Office XP item in the add/remove program list - but it does not remove the Office XP item itself from the list.
