This is a very annoying problem. Every email I receive displays as unformatted text, it looks a mess.

If I REPLY to an email, my signature and everything else in the email appears as text as well.

However, if I choose NEW message, my signature appears as normal, in HTML.

This problem happened a few months ago and I don't know why. Does anyone know how to fix it? I could reinstall but its a hassle. In the Mail Setup, it is set to HTML for all messages so I dont know why its not showing as that.

Hi Amtech, which version of Outlook are you using? Go in to options > preferences > e-mail options, and make sure the read all standard mail in plain text is unchecked (it's under message handling)

That's in Outlook 2003, I'm not sure it applies to later versions but I should imagine it's more or less the same.

Thanks Pgh, I'll try that tomorrow. And yes I am using Outlook 2003. Not sure there's much difference between that and the newer versions?

The issue was my antivirus converting all messages to text in order to speed up the scan. I've fixed it now.
