Hi,

i have created a rule in outlook 2003 to automatically forward all emails to a hotmail account for when i'm away.

So the rule works and forwards automaticcaly, but ONLY WHEN outlook is OPEN.

How could I solve this prob?

The only way for Outlook to forward emails is for it to be running. It will not forward them when it is closed...

If your ISP also allows you to pick up your emails via Webmail then there may be the opportunity to forward your emails within that application.

This is also another way of suggesting that if you have Webmail access you probably won't need the forwarding to Hotmail.

How about if I want to send to another account then to hotmail...

I've been told it was possible, even when outlook is closed, if the rule is "server" oriented and not "client"...

Assuming Home Installation.

As Arctos said if the Outlook on your PC (client) is closed nothing happens. As I said if you have webmail (server) than it may be possible to redirect your email to wherever you want.

You will of course have to know the server, username and password.
