I have a user on our corporate network (out of state) that says when he replies to an email in Outlook 2003 that has an attachment on it, it replies with the attachment instead of dropping it. I didn't think this was possible (I hear it is an option in 2007, but no in anything previous). Can anyone confirm whether this is possible or not. I've not yet connected to the users pc to watch what he is doing to make sure he is not forwarding or doing something else to cause this as I am waiting on a time that works for the both of us. I just thought I'd check with the experts while I waited.

Yes, it is possible. It is a configured Option though, not a Default.

In Outlook -> Tools -> Options -> Preferences tab -> Email Options -> "On replies and forwards" -> "When replying to a message" -> select "Attach Original Message"

Ok, so after talking with the user, it seems I misunderstood what he wants. He wants to have a button on Outlook with the option to, "Reply with Attachment". He doesn't want the "Attach original message" option, but the button itself. I am going to do some searching and see if I can find an Add-On with this option or not. If anyone knows of anything, I'm all ears.

Do you enjoy Visual Basic coding? I found a possible answer, but it involves coding to create the button. I would paste the link, but it requires a membership to obtain the info.

err... Thanks but no thanks. I don't think I want to get into that for this problem. I'll keep googleing (havn't found any options yet), but thanks for the option!!
