I occasionally type a document which contains French words ( and sometimes Spanish words).

What is the easiest way to type the accents e.g the acute e and the grave e and the other main standard accents for the vowels etc.

I use Microsoft Office Word 2003and have a standard HP keyboard for a dv9000 series laptop and am based in the UK.

If you have numlock on, press and keep hold of Alt and press:

130: é
133: à
131: â
132: å
135: ç
136: ê
137: ë
138: è
139: ï
140: î

etc

Another place to go to is Character Map: Start> All Programs> Accessroies> System Tools> Character Map. Select the word you want and click the copy button.
