Hi

Like it says in the topic title , I want to erase all line breaks which I am not using from my work sheet. But still keeping the line breaks which has something written to it.

Since my English isn't good please think this as a example of one cell.

- Example text number 1
- Example text number 2
- Example text number 3
- Example text number 4
- Example text number 5
---------------------------------------------

Using "Find & Replace" I got to replace the ones I want to erase with nothing, so its blank. Too bad the Excel doesn't replace the line breaks with it, so this is what I get.

-------------------------------------------
- Example text number 1
- Example text number 2

- Example text number 4

---------------------------------------------

The result which I want to have is:

-------------------------------------------
- Example text number 1
- Example text number 2
- Example text number 4
---------------------------------------------

I know about the Clean Function but that function eases all the line breaks from the cell, which I dont want to.

So my question is can the excel do this?
If not that whould mean that I have to delete the line breaks by hand for hundreds of cells.

Try this go to
View >Toolbars >Customise

Then In the Commands Tab select "Edit
Next drag "Delete Rows" from the Righthand pane to the tool bar at the top of the page.
Now select the complete row you wish to remove by selecting the number on the left side of the worksheet so it's highlighted and then click the "Remove Row" button you've just put in the toolbar.
That should do it.
This can be done for columns as well.

There are also Insert Rows and Column Buttons in the Insert section of the Commands Tab, if you wish to add instead of remove

But deleting rows is not what I am looking for. I am trying to get rid of the line breaks (ALT + Enter) within one cell. A method which I can apply it on hundreds of cells at once.

I miss read the question, my apologies. I too am unsure how achieve what you require, hopefully someone else will have an answer.

My guess is that it'll be something constructed around:

=SUBSTITUTE(A1,CHAR(10),"**")

which replaces the Alt+enter with **, Replace the **** with nothing & put the alt+enters back in
