Assuming your operating system is XP

First go:

Start - Run - and type

chkdsk /r (with the space)

This checks out your file and index systems, cleaning and repairing as required. It will advise you it can't start until it reboots. Reboot

Then

Download CCleaner from CCleaner - Download
Then install.
I suggest when asked untick all the options apart from the top one

CCleaner:

Under the Cleaner section: select “Run Cleaner”

Under the Registry section: select “Scan for Issues”

(when asked about registry “Backup” save & then accept where it saves it to.)
then “Fix Selected Issues”

Do the Registry option again..(and again until no issues found)

This rids the computer of redundant files and registry entries.

Try the download again and report back.

Hi c113, this seems a little suspicious that you are getting a message at boot up, and how it's causing problems with your computer like this. I'd suggest following the link to Prework in my signature and completing the steps there so we can rule out any chance of infection.

Hello,I would not follow that link.

Follow elpmek,s instructions for now.

Flash player is used so you can view pictures in web pages and view online video,s.If you are reciving this message I would ignore it.

I recommend you click the "Prework" link below in my signiture and copy and paste the results back here on your thread.

Snoopy - I appreciate your concern and thanks, but be reassured the link in my post is to Sophos (big anti-virus company) pointing out that even such large companies as Adobe (flash player reference) can nowadays get infected. Rather worrying.
