Hello, and thanks for taking the time to read this question.

I have been having an issue with Microsoft Word 2003 for about six weeks. I am using a Dell Inspiron 1525 on Vista Home Premium.
Basically, what happens is I tell Word to open a document. It tells me the program has stopped working, asks me to either check online for a solution or close the program. If I tell it to check online, it searches for a bit and believes it has found the answer, but does not work. If I tell it to close, it tells me that Word did not close properly and asks me to go into Safe Mode.
Word works fine when I put it into Safe Mode, but it is becoming inconvenient to have to open and close it every time.

If anyone has any sort of solution, or something that might help me solve the problem, that would be of great help. Thanks.

Can you do a fresh install of Office 2003?

i have office 07...but when i had trouble with a similar problem.....theres a microsoft diagnostics tool that auto-fixes the problem...i forgot if office 03 has this....
if theres a diagnostic for 03 it should be under:
Start...All Programs...Microsoft Office 03...MIcrosoft Office Tools...Microsoft Diagnostics

It sounds like a DLL or registry problem. I would suggest to reinstall the software in safe mode.
