Default Word dictionary

I am using Office 2003 and am using Word more and more, however the spellchecker leaves a lot to be desired. It doesn't understand the difference between "you're" and "your" and has never heard of "preceding".

I do a lot of writing as part of my job function and need a GOOD spell checker and grammer checker that will fit into Word.

alternatively a good program that I can paste into from Word.

Any suggestions please.

Gandalf,
can you please explain what a bad link is and why it was deleted? I didn't put any links on this request.

What have I done wrong?

Hi lucian,

I think you may have your spelling and grammar check setup incorrectly.

Normally Word will detect if you type "your" as opposed to "you're" in a sentence. I have just tested this in 2 different versions of Word (2003 + 2007)

To check your spelling and grammar settings - click Tools > Spelling and Grammar > click Options. Make sure the options and dictionary are setup for how you'd like them.

I put a link there, then had to delete it.

I haven't found any information for you about a good dictionary that works with Word 2003.

Maybe someone else will have better luck.
