Hi! I've been trying to get onto the internet on my (well, my dad's really) new computer. I did a very stupid thing though and installed the internet provider's anti-virus software when the computer already had some on. It sent the computer completely mental but I've managed to get it working again only it's corrupted my Internet Explorer so I can't set up the internet through that and there's nothing else on the computer that I can get onto the internet with so I'm stuck. I've been told to download Firefox but as I can't get onto the internet I'll have to download it onto my parent's computer and then copy it onto CD and reload it onto my computer. The problem is that when I've done this I can't load it onto my computer. Because it's not like loading a game where when you put the CD in it brings up an install wizard I'm stuck. I've tried copying and pasting but even though it's on the computer there's nothing to go in to and load it up. Any advice?

Did you try a system restore on your Dads PC yet?

Yeah, I tried system restore but it doesn't seem to have done a lot.

If you download firefox(which I did not like much) right to your cd drive and then open it up in the other pc a wizard will come up. I had to do this a few days ago with a few programs. So select D drive or what ever I used E as I used a flash drive, and then go from there, I hope this helps I had IE become corrupted some time back and I did not even this to do this and I wipped the pc ugh. Have you tried re installing Internet Explorer?

It sounds a stupid question but when you tried to wait for an auto-installer. Did you try and load up the cd in Win Explorer and run the install file from there?
