[FONT='Verdana','sans-serif']I’m trying to open a zip files that were sent to me via email I’m using outlook 2003 and I get the following error message both when I try to open it and save it.
Error Message (can’t create file: Filename.zip. Right-click the folder you want to create the file in and then click Properties on the shortcut menu to check your permissions for the folder.)
I have forward the same email to my hotmail account and it opens without a problem I have also uninstalled winzip and installed winrar I have checked in folder options and made sure that winrar is set to open zip files and it still won’t open. [/font]
[FONT='Verdana','sans-serif']I have also reinstalled office 2003 this fixed the same problem last time I was getting this error message but this time it doesn’t seem to fix the problem.
Can anyone help because it’s a massive inconvenience to have to keep forwarding emails with zip files attached to my hotmail account.[/font]

welcome to the forums, chucky. can you save the file to your desktop and open it? Also, can other attachments be opened, or only zip files? And what os are you using? XP has a built in zip function, you may want to give that a crack.

I originally was using the built in one that comes with windows XP then when the problem first occurred I installed winzip and it still didn’t work I then uninstall winzip and installed winrar which fix the problem when I did that but a few days later the problem came back I uninstalled winrar and installed it again but this time it didn’t fix the problem.
And when I tire to same the attachment I get the same error message that I get when I tire to open the attachment the issue is only with zip files I can open all other attachment without a problem

can you save it to your desktop and open it from there?
