When I convert a Word document with pictures to PDF, the text characters in the figures are lost, but the pictures are still there. In Word, it seems to be just one picture, with some letters and numbers next to black and white figures. Does anyone know why only part of the picture would write to PDF, and if there is anything I can do to make sure the whole thing is converted? I have tried in Word, printing to PDF, and also opening Acrobat and selecting 'create from document', but the same thing happened in both cases. Thank you!

Is this something that has just suddenly happened or has it been this way since you installed office and or Adobe Acrobat?

I have not noticed this problem before, and I am pretty sure that I have successfully converted similar pictures before. When I go to edit the picture, the letters (they are big a, b, c, d, as in separate parts of a figure that are described with these letters as reference in the caption) can be moved in their own boxes, but just in the word document it acts like one whole item.

Well, I'm sorry but office suites and Adobe Acrobat really aren't my area - I would however apply a regular approach to solving software issues, to this particular problem;

1) Uninstall (and remove the program folder) for both office and AA
2) Re-install both products
3) Obtain the most recent patches for both products

Test.
