Default MIcrosoft outlook 2003 : additional calendars

HI,

I have installed Outlook 2003 (on XP) and would like to make keep the 'default' calendar AND make an additional calendar by copying a .pst file from my work laptop Outlook calendar to my home PC.

I have tried setting up an additional calendar but when I import the .pst file it overwrites the default calendar (which the misses wants to use for planning the family stuff in).

I have also tried setting up an additional login so that I have a work account on the PC but I can not open this using the shared folder option. I believe this is because I do not have a Microsoft server account (or something such like).

Can anyone give me any help, so I can have my family default calendar and my work calander in the same Outlook.

Cheers

Graham

Hi Graha, welcome to the PCHF.

The easiest way to have 2 calendars in Outlook would be to setup multiple profiles.
To do this - close Outlook.
Goto Start -> Control Panel -> Classic View (top left if you haven't already done this) -> Mail -> Show Profiles -> Add... -> create a new profile and name it Work -> then select Prompt for a profile to be used

Apply and close all windows.

Each time you open outlook now, a box will request which profile to load - Outlook or Work.
They are 2 seperate .pst files and completely different calendars.

Hope this is what you're after

Thanks GaRHaR,

I have done that now and I can see that I can put the calendar there rate.

I assume I was right and that it is not possible to 'share' this calendar when I use the other email account? (as I do not have a microsoft e-mail server)
