Default [Answered] Adding pictures to ms access 2003

Hi

I'm trying to set up a big database of products for a shop. However i'd like to have a picture stored for each product i input into the database. I don't know much about ms access so i'm rather struggling. Can anyone either tell me how best to do it using ms access or failing that, can anyone recommend any free programs that could allow me to do it.

Thanks very much.

Hello bbmoonlight

Welcome back to PCHF

I'm unsure if Access 2003 has the Northwind database inbuilt, have a look if it has.
This was a massive database that MS included in Access 2000 which will give you breakdowns of Tables, Queries, Forms etc in a big way.

P.S If you can't find it it may need installing from the Access 2003 disk.

Microsoft Access is good for embedding pritty much anything including images quite easily, and in as many row's and columns as you like. An example would be to create a field as an "OLE Object". Then you can select what you want to embed in the table itself. If this is going to be a large database, you also have the option of saving your images in a folder somewhere, and then creating a hyperlink to the document instead. Will save you compacting the database every 5 mins!
