Ok, i did not know quite where to put this but here it goes

I recently used Windows Recovery and a lot of Outlook Express messages were missing afterwards. The main identity ones were there, but other identities lost loads of messages. Is there any way of getting them back? They were not deleted, they just weren't there after using recovery

Thanks in advance for any help you can give

Sorry hallidaycc, the Windows recovery CD doesn't actually touch any of the outlook identities, but the Windows system restore, will actually overwrite your mail and take it back the time you restored to.

There's no way of restoring overwritten files on your PC, unless you have some sort of backup solution in place.

Actually if you are linking your outlook express with them other identities to a webmail account and you selected leave a copy on server you should be albe to access them through webmail.

I see what upgrader is saying, but normally this setting is disabled by default, and that's also assuming hallidaycc has a webmail version of his account.

You can check to see if your messages are left on the server, from Outlook Express:

- Click on Tools, Accounts, followed by the Properties button.
- Click on the Advanced tab and at the bottom you will see "Leave a copy of messages on server".

If this is ticked, and you have webmail. For example, if your email address is hallidaycc@hotmail.com, you can log onto your web mail at Sign In.
