Unhappy Microsoft Outlook 2002 Send/Recieve Problem

I seem to be having a little problem with my e-mail. Everytime I hit either the "send/recieve" button on the toolbar or tools>"send/recieve all", I get "the operation failed". I have gone back into my email account settings and everything is the way it is supposed to be. I also hit the "Test Account Settings" and everything passed inspection.

The weird thing is that when I go to Tools and then to my email account, it sends and recieve's just fine. What is going on? I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling Microsoft Office XP and that did not fix it. FYI, this problem did seem to have started right after I had to completely reinstall Windows XP Pro SP2 on my computer.

HELP!!

Hey ITDude,

Welcome to PCHF. We have a pretty great team of techs here, and I am sure that we will be able to help you figure out how to resolve this problem. I am terribly sorry about the delay in answering your post.

Give this a try, it doesn't always work, but in your case, it just may. Make sure all other programs are closed. Have your Office CD in the drive, open Outlook, and under Help, choose Detect and Repair. Let it run, and allow it to fix everything that it finds.

Looking forward to your reply,

TTFN
