Default Advice on Outlook

I want to set up a new e-mail account on my pc but i have Microsoft Outlook which was installed with Microsoft Office 2003 and i also have Outlook Express which i think was included with XP.

Firstly i would just like to know which would be better to use? Also when i create an account it would be something like this -> myname@???.com but what would be in place of the ???. Can i choose anything? I have a hotmail account but i don't want to sync with it because i get so many junk e-mails! My internet Service Provider is AOL.

Thanks

David

Hi David I personally prefer outlook 2003 beause the program has bit more features and a more clear overview, you can ccess the addressbook more easy, use the calendar (sync it with a mobile device) etc. You can flag messages which require special attention (those are put in a special folder). And backing up is a lot easier, just one .pst file with contacts mails and calendar info instead of .dxb files, and .wab files.
But, a big but, if you want to use newsgroups you need a newsreader since office outlook doesn't come with a built in newsreader and outlook express does.
Conclusion:
express: more basic, more files, less functionality, but newsgroups
office outlook: vica versa
A gmail address can be synced with both outlooks and no worries about spam. I sent you a invite via your hotmail (gmail also has an over 2gig mailbox and allows attachments of up to 15mb)
Enjoy, Bram
ps. I'll be away now but read the reply later tonight

If you have Outlook 2003, it's more featured than Outlook Express. You most lilkely paid for it, so you might as well use it.

I found this article about setting up AOL mail with Outlook
