Default [Resolved] Outlook .pst file opening does not work
I run Office 2000 Outlook at work and our server crashed but I tried to save my outlook.pst file to cd so I would have it when we were back up and running today. But when I go to open it is says I am denied access to the file which is on a CD-R disk. I had all my office contacts and my calendar and now I can't get them. Please help ddodds

Hi and welcome to PCHF,

I would imagine that when you copied the .pst file to the CD it was given read only permissions. No problem, copy the PST file to your hard drive, and use Windows Explorer to change the read-only status. Then try the import again.

thanks, I still could not do it it appears that we were on a microsoft exchange server so my .pst files did not have what i thought they would. I will have to talk to our tech support to see if we have a backup tape older than the three weeks that our backup has not been working. thanks again.
