I see inthe log the Bing search engine, and that comes with IE 8.
A co-worker reported a similar issue, and he claimed to have solved it -have no 3rd party verification though- by clicking (on IE8 Command Bar) Tools>Internet Options>Advanced>Reset...

I've heard in the past that by clicking on that particular button, can REALLY mess up with your internet settings, but he claims that it did the job...

Now for Acer-or most notebooks-the WLAN module is usually on accessible through a compartment on the bottom, or under the K/B.

On 1 system that couldn't acces any network, I found the WLAN antenna cables touching each other and the mainboard, but that's a rare find.

Just to make sure: The most stupid-but for that reason elusive-thing, is to have ticked "work off line" on the browser.
Many a time have I played Harry Potter with that...

Are you able connect to the internet if ALL the other systems are off and disconnected, and the router reset or powered off for 2 minutes?
