hey guys whats goin on i have a problem i was wantign to host a website from my pc but i cant get no-ip to connect as it connects to my modem instead of website i think its because the modem use's the ports 80 & 21 is there enyway i can fix this as i want to host it i have a SpeedTouch 570 thanks guys

Hi,
I have marked your thread as Open to encourage a response from the network gurus. All I will say is check that ports 80 and 21 are forwarded correctly in your router. The router's manual will tell you how to do this. |

its not a router its just a adsl modem but i have hosted websites on other adsl modems before just this one takes up port 80 and 21 to connect to the modem liek the site to config it?" so yeah.

A lot of the Australian isp's block a number ports so you cannot host websites on your computer. I know Bigpond and Optusnet block ports.
To find out more about this you will have to contact your isp's tech support line...

na man i have hosted with the ones i with before its jsut i bought a new ADSL modem and now it wont let me i know its the modem just wondern if i can make it so those prots arnt used up

Hi marneros,
Are you able to forward the traffic on port 80 to your pc's ip address? Or is it saying the port is in use. I think it's under game and application sharing on your router.
