I thought you wanted to use your TV as the only monitor.
If you want the exact same display on two monitors then you will need to set it up in nvidia. However, I think the best you can do is an extended desktop, which isn't an exact clone. You get roughly half on one screen and half on another. This has its uses, for example you could look at photos on one screen and be making notes on them on the other, in Word. We use this for Karaoke where one screen has the words and on the other screen is the person picking the next song. As for an exact copy of a screen...I'm not sure if that's possible. However, if you want to get the display back on two monitors, just do the steps I listed but plug your PC monitor in and make that the primary monitor again. |

Miss.
![]() Have you tried changing the signal or HD format in NVIDIA Control panel? Have you checked resolution and refresh rate both in windows and NVIDIA control panel? Are you sure cables are fully connected?

Sorry David I read your post.
As for the gree dots, try right clicking the desktop and choose Properties > Settings and change the resolution slider to something higher. Press Ok and it should improve. Maybe you just have it at a low resolution. Also check that Color Depth is at at least 16bit. PS keep the HDTV as monitor setup. You can watch files directly from Windows and make them full screen in the media player. You only need two monitors if you want to do work on another monitor at the same time as a video is playing...but why would you? My other option would be to try a different cable, like VGA-VGA or DVI-VGA. I know that VGA-DVI works. I have no experience with DVI-HDMI |

hi jellybean, cables are fully connected, ive tried differnet ports on both ends e.g hdmi1 and 2 and both on the graphics card - all give discoloration
ive tried many different resoloutions currently im leaving it on 1280 x 1024 as it doesnt seem to solve the problem changing it the refresh rate on the hdtv is 60 hz according to the tv manual it can support up to 75. the format is HDMI - high definition televisions and i cant knock it down from 1080i HDTV. digital color format is RGB with another option of YCBCR444. There is a section i havent messed about with - manage custom resoloutions :-s thanks, david |
