Ok well i recieved a backup modem from my ISP company about a month ago. Before this new modem i didnt have this problem but anyways. I use skype ALOT during the day and night, and well about every minute or two i get a 3 second lag where when hes talking it cuts out for 3 seconds and i cant hear him then it comes back on after the 3 seconds. Ok at first i thought it would go away, no big deal.. but after a month it gets annoying having to ask him to repeat it over and over. Second thing, i play online games. I play combat arms, and when im playing, im on skype and i hear it lag on skype and it lags in the game too, im walking in game and then it sends me straight back to where i was in the game 3 seconds ago. Its very annoying, i know its not my bandwidth i download around 750Kb/s i dunno what it is. can someone help me.. please!

Doesnt anyone know? its really annoying.. ive reset the router and the modem ive looked in the settings, nothing seems to be wrong there :/ im just not sure.

It is really important to realise that Skype is very memory intensive. So if you are using a lot of other programs, or say playing a game, you are going to get lags.

So you need to take a look at your memory usage.

First of all, is your PC maxed out on RAM? If you do not know, could you please post your specs? Either the Make and Model of the machine, or the MOBO (motherboard), and the total amount of RAM. If you are unsure, please download and run Belarc from my signature, it will give you that information.
