Trouble setting up new network connection
I just recently re-installed my windows xp. I plugged in everything, and when I went to network connections to set up my internet..there was NOTHING there. So I did the whole "set up new connection" thing, and when I finished nothing happened.
First I called comcast for help, in which they told me I need to call microsoft. So I call microsoft and they tell me they can't help me because I have Windows XP Service Pack 1 and they are only helping people who have service pack 3, they said I need to order service pack 3, which is bs and I'm not going to do it.
So basically my question is how do I set up a new internet connection? I tried going on the windows install disc and installing optional files which I went to networking and checked everything possible, yet still nothing happened. The people at comcast were sadly more helpful than microsoft, they told me that some files probably didn't get installed when I re-installed.
If it helps i have a pentium 4..2.53 ghz, 256 mb of ram.
