Umm I'm not quite sure what your asking? You don't need to use Logontomypc for remote access or support - it's just one of many programs that can do this.

As for the second question - I'm not sure exactly what your asking? Can you please be more specific? If you mean if you knew someones info could you access their pc - then yes you could.

If your wanting something to be able to provide remote support there are free options available.

What I'm asking is, what is it that "logontomypc" do to connect to an remote pc? In other words, how is it that they do it? Also, if they can do it how ever they connect to a pc, then I should do the same without it...right?!

Yes, you can do the same without logonmypc. It's called Remote Desktop - it's part of the Windows OS.

You can also use Remote Assistance on Windows XP to do the same thing.

I assume you mean logonmypc not logontomypc, if not please provide a link. These particular types of remote access software work by you having client software running on your pc that is connected to one of their servers 24/7. To connect to the pc you simply log onto their website and then connect to the pc via their server.

Can you connect the same way as they do? Umm, unless your a software developer who specialises in remote access software and have your own server then I don't think so. You can however use the built-in Microsoft Remote Desktop or Remote Assistance.

There is other remote access software that works completely differently but ultimately you get the same result - remote access, please let me know if you would like more info on any of these.

Yes Diire...I would like more info on this cuz it would save me gas on going to clients house. If I recall, you can't do remote assistance or remote desktop if you're not on the same network as the pc you're trying to connect to. But if Dell and other people are doing it, then I know it's a way but I'm just not keen on it.
