Remote Desktop is logging onto a desktop from another location. Either for admin or for terminal server applications. On Windows XP when accessed through Remote desktop it logs off the currently logged on user - which would be the person you are trying to help. They will not see what you are doing as XP only allows 1 person to be logged at one time.

Remote Assistance allows you to access their pc and they can see what your doing, it doesn't log them off.

So I could use either one of the software's you mention earlier in the thread or remote desktop or assistance? Correct? Which is better and is it fairly easy to setup and use Windows built in remote software oppose to the others?

The easiest is probably ShowmyPC. Download it and test it - it's very simple to use.
