Hi! Somebody can help my modem ADSL SpeddStream 5200 stopped to function of impulsivity.

I tried acess by telnet 192.168.254.254 or http://192.168.254.254 and it doesn't answer.

The lights is ok. PWR (on), DSL(on), eNET(on) and I still can't conect to it. I read that I obtain records the bios again, but don't know how.

Someone can help me?

Can you please do the following and paste the results back in your next post.

Click Start > Run > type: CMD > Click OK
at the prompt type: ipconfig /all

Have you tried changing the ethernet cable? Are the lights on where you plug in the ethernet cable in the pc?

When I conect the eternet cable, I can't assing a IP address. The windows show the mesage of conection limited, or something else.

I changed the modem & it works immediately. The cable is working.

Try the following:

Click Start > Control Panel > Network Connections > right click Local Area Connection (or Rede Local) > select Properties > scroll through the list of items - highlight Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) > Click Properties.

Select Use the following IP Address and make sure complete the details as per below:
IP Address: 192.168.254.3
Subnet Mask: 255.255.255.0
Default Gateway: 192.168.254.254

Select Use the following DNS server addresses:
Preferred DNS Server: 192.168.254.254
Leave the second one blank.

Click OK > Click OK.

See if you can access your modems setup page or the internet. If not try replacing the cable.

Please post back if this doesn't help.

I changed the cable and tried telnet and http://192.168.254.254.

What can I try?

Make sure your internet browser is not set to work offline - in the browser click File > Make sure there is no tick next to Work Offline.

Otherwise I would try resetting the modem back to factory defaults. The reset button is underneath your router.

Press in the reset button and hold. The power LED will flash once red - keep holding the reset until the Power light starts flashing red and green, then release it. Set your computer back to Obtain IP address and DNS automatically. See if you can access the modem setup page.

You will need to set up your internet connection again after you reset the modem to be able to connect to the internet again.

If you still can't access your modem setup after doing this then your modem is faulty and you may have to buy a new one.
