I'm not sure if this is the right place to post this, but been facing some issues with my internet download usage.

As the title says, everything I download is double what it is whenever I go to my server's 'internet usage' page.Today for example, my friend sent me a couple of scanlated mangas. I totalled it up to be 350mB, but on the usage page, it says 700mB. This has been going on for a few months. I've been monitoring this for a while, and it's baffling me as to whats going on. Pretty sure none of my neighbours are 'stealing' any of it, as I've left my computer off for an entire week, and then when I go check the usage page, nothing has been noted.

Can anyone offer any help on this?

Do you mean the file is 350mb but the download is 700mb?

Downloading 700 mb is nothing to do with size of file you are wanting to download.
The 700 mb download I belive it speed not file size.

Or have I got this completely wrong?

I'm sorry, but I am completely computer illiterate.

By 350mb, I mean that when I accepted the file, the size of the file was labelled as 350mb. However, in my internet usage page the download is labelled as 700mb. The doubling applies to pretty much everything I download though, not just the 350mb file

So -- your ISP monitors your downloads?

Who provides your internet access?

Perhaps there is a bug in their software...?

Have you tried contacting your isp and asking them? I know that some isp's count both up and down data - but I don't think this is your problem.
