Default Edimax BR-6104K Router issue

Hi all
I've been having problems getting an internet connection over the last week. When I bought the router I configured it with my machine, worked fine on all 4 computers that were connected to it for a week or so, no sweat!
Last Thursday it decided to stop working. We all have internet connection, have been assigned IP addresses etc, but cannot log on to the web. We keep getting messages that there is no connection.I tried powering the modem down, the router and the machine and rebooting each of them after 30 seconds wait, still no dice!
I have a feeling that my ISP (Virgin) have over-subscribed in my area and this is the reason we're experiencing problems. It seems very strange that all was well for a week and now we are having problems.
Any advice solving this conundrum will be gratefully appreciated!
Thanks
Levi

Hello and welcome to PC Help Forum.

What meg broad band are you on?

I will check there website for any problems in your area. What area do you live in?
Could you open your browser page on each computer and click on tools and scroll to internet options and open it.Delete temp files/cookies/hsitory.

Open netwrok connections and right click on each adaptor in turn and choose repair.
I have Virginmedia and I know they do not block our own shop bought wireless routers.

Also could you do this on each computer on your network:Right click on my computer and scroll to properties and then hard ware tab then device manager.Open the + were your network adaptors are located and update there drivers.

Use drop down box for your area,it seems BB is either upgrading, down, repair.Virgin Media > help > service status > overview : status home

Virgin Media > help > service status > planned maintenance

Thanks for that Jelly bean! We're on a 4 Meg connection.
I'll do all that once I get home this afternoon and will let you know how I go.
Thanks again, L.

Well check the links and use drop down box for your area.It seems Virgin has a lot of work going on.I have 4 meg soon to be upgraded to 10 meg free. The 4 meg is not capped in anyway so I am sure they have not stopped you from using internet, there is no limit.

Do them when you get home and hopefully it should get you up and running. Also try direct cable connect to modem via main pc with out the wireless router see if that picks up a good speed of connection.

If all this doesnt work try an uninstall of network adaptor in device manager then reboot computer.

Let me know how it goes?Thankyou.

Thanks so much for your help Jellybean. I took a look at the Virgin page and there's work happening in SE27 which is right next door to East Dulwich.
Will try all that you've suggested and get back to you by tomorrow morning to let you know how I've gotten along!
Cheers!
