After taking out the ethernet cable, and replacing it after playing xbox, my router now only seems to be able to connect to 1 system at a time.
If you are connecting via wireless, go into the router config pages and check that the IP config is set to DHCP. Next, on one of the PCs, use the command promt to see what IP details you have (ipconfig /all).
Also, you could use the commands;

ipconfig /release -then- ipconfig /renew

and

ipconfig /flushdns

Hey, there is a big problem i think, i use the Laptop that we installed the router on the 'master' settings, 192.168.2.1, typed that in on all PC's and it says 'page cannot be found' this is strange because i had accessed the settings a few weeks prior, i even tried to 'reinstall' the router and the software that came with it wouldn't recognise the router even though i was clearly getting internet through it..

Oh and i'm with Virgin Media.

Hi christian, have you tried connecting xbox to another pc or laptop?Maybe connecting straight to router is the problem?

You should use an XBOX wireless adaptor?Xbox.com | Xbox 360 - Xbox 360? Wireless Networking Adapter

I think you should read this on cables and connections also Xbox.com | Connect to Xbox Live - Glossary

To connect XBOX to router.

You need 3 eithernet cables.

First eithernet cable goes from modem to wirless router.

Second goes from wirless router to back of PC as in normal router and modem connections.

Third eithernet cable goes from a numbered port on back of router ports numbered 1,2,3,4,However if another pc is cable connected to numbered port 1 and number 2 is empty then connect XBOX to number 2 port.

If number 2 port has a cable connected pc then connect XBOX to number 3 port.

Have you done this?Or did you connect XBOX to wan/lan ports?

So then if you have done the connections correctly as I have stated then you should reboot modem and wireless router and the connection of XBOX should be picked up.

Also XBOX must be allowed to connect to internet by allowing this through the firewall.

Then use XBOX dashboard to finish setup.

Or your router is not connected or setup properly.

everything is connected fine, you don't connect the xbox to the PC, you connect either to the router or the modem.

As i said earlier, it is not the xbox that has a problem, it's the router's inability to connect to more than one PC at a time, which defeats the purpose of a router entirely!
