Default Netgear WGR614 v7 problems

Had this router installed for a few months and all is well. Took a while to get it set up and working and the support line was useless. I sorted it in the end!

Anyway on Friday I was unable to access the internet at all. The internet link was a constant orange and would not go green at all.

I have taken the router out the situation and as you can see I am online. I have tried to reset my router but no good. Went through the whole installation again and it just said error occured and to check connections and unplug modem for 2 minutes then router for 1 min and then pc.

Any advice would be great?
Thank

Hello msb1302,

Can you access the router setup? Make sure your cables are in good working order then go to the link below and follow the instructions exactly. That should get you going. if not then we may try updating the firmware. Oh and remember...When you power down the modem and router also shut the PC down and leave them off for about 2 minutes. When turning them back on, follow these steps.

1:Power up modem and wait for lights to quit flashing.
2:Power up router again letting lights quit flashing.
3:Boot PC

Link:No Internet Access Through the Router

Good luck
LC

Cheers for that.

I will try tomorrow when I get two seconds. I will let you know what happens.

We did have issues with our ethernet cable but we bought a new one and still not right.

Anyway will try tomorrow and let you know

Well I could not resist and had a go this evening.

And thank you so much I am back up and running. I had been doing the powering down but not the way you described.

My netgear is working and my wireless is up and running. I am so grateful as was starting to worry.
