Red face two modems 1 as router?

good evening ladies and gentlemen... got a quick on for ya;s

My mate who i am living with now has cable internet, the computer is connected to the internet via a motorola modem which has like a screw in cable connection at the back, yet the modem only have one lan port, which makes it tough for more than one computer to use the internet in the house, anyways, he also has a wireless modem (siemens) which is wireless, any chance i can plug the lan cable that comes out of the motorola modem into the back of the siemens and possibly get a wireless signal? and both computers maybe work on the net? thanks

Hmmm..if the wireless modem is also a router then yes, it shouldn't be a problem. I wouldn't think it would be possible if it's only another modem.

If it only has one Lan port it is more than likely it is not a router..

A router is like a modem but has a couple ethernet connections and its own firewall hardwired into it, not like zone alarm or anything like that, but the kind the government uses (well close to it)

Edit did not read all of it .

His wireless modem has a router in it.... So yes it would work....
