this might be worth a try on the PC thats connecting copy all the dns, gateway settings on to the other PC just use a different ip address as the working one.

EG if it's 192.168.0.1 on the working one chage the last number of the IP to 2 on the other PC

see if that works

This how to get to that section

To configure your Windows XP computer for TCP/IP support, follow the directions below:
  1. Click the right mouse button on the My Network Places icon on your desktop and select the item Properties from the menu that appears.

  2. In the window that appears, labeled Network and Dial-up Connections, right-click on the icon titled Local Area Connection and select the item Properties from the menu that appears.

  3. A window titled Local Area Connection Properties will now appear. In the list below, select the item called Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) and then click on the button labeled Properties.
  4. A window titled Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) Properties will now appear. In this window, click on the radio button to the left of Obtain an IP Address automatically.
  5. In the same window near the bottom, make sure the radio button to the left of Obtain DNS server address automatically is filled.
  6. On the bottom of the same window, click on the button labeled Advanced... This will bring up a new window called Advanced TCP/IP Settings.

go to wireless connection properties and check the TCP/IP properties.

Sounds like could be a DNS issue.

Are IP and DNS servers both chosen to select automatically? If not, try that.
I sugest it earlier on.

Ring Virgin on 150.
