Hello Capt_beard, welcome to PCHF. It's the networking experience/training you need at this point.
Since you can only access the router via the network, and the routers IP address is 192.168.1.1, DCHP is off. This means that you need to setup a static IP address along the same IP range, for example 192.168.1.5, subnet 255.255.255.0, gateway and dns 192.168.1.1. As long as there are no other problems with the router, you'll be able to access the router via your network as normal. Easy stuff.
