Hey guys,

Would really appreciate some help, with an annoying and re-occuring problem.

When i click 'view available wireless networks' i dont see my Orange connection. Yet i see the message ' Windows cannot configure this wireless connection' and it refers to the WZC.

Now the only way i seem to be able to see my networks is going to admin tools, then WZC, then start, and automatic. But every time i re-turn on my computer i recive this message, although my interest still works fine! This is also a problem when travelling with my laptop, as it wont allow me find networks when trying to search.

Any help/advice with this issue, would be greatly appreciated.

Hi,

It sounds like you have a third party wireless config application installed. Find it and disable it in msconfig, then re-enable WZC in services and reboot.

Thanks for the reply Hengis. Not a massive computer expert, what do i need to be looking at disabling and where in the 'msconfig' section.

Np, it will be software related (I would think) to your wireless adapter. I know that Linksys use their own software for instance.

Are you using Windows Vista or XP?

Iam using Windows Xp.

When i run msconfig, then select services, there is a long list involving the service and status, is this where i need to be looking? Is it the unknown serivices i should be looking into not the microsoft corporation ones.

Can you post up a screenshot of your msconfig and we'll let you know what you can disable in there.
