Default [Answered] RJ45 Keystone Jack Wiring

Hey, I'm currently trying to install a home network. I have the modem and router in the lounge and plan have sockets in the lounge which then run to rooms around the house to connect computers to the router. The cable is in at the moment but I've come stuck; I dont know how to wire the wall sockets for the cabling. On the RJ45 Keystone Jack it has two seperate colour codings: A and B.

What do the two different letters mean and which do I use?

Cheers,

Ben

Hi Bmorgan,

The two are different wiring standards A = T568A, so it depends on what standard your also using for your cables and patch panels.

If your not adding to an existing network, then either standard can be used, however B is normally the preference and most commonly used.

EDIT: Marked as Answered.
