As for phone cables and socket., all from same socket, i am simply switching ADSL cable back to external modem to get back on here.

Ok everybody.

It seems that after all my troubles, it is most likely to be a faulty router.

I want to say a special thanks to JIM for all his invaluable help and would also like to express how impressed i am by the help and knowledge you can gain here.

I spoke to Orange about this problem for any help and they sorted it immediately...... they are sending one of their own routers to me in 3-5 days and assure me it is a peice of psis to set up!!

Belkin router going back on e.bay!!!

Hi Matt:

Glad Orange have been helpful. Did you get the email that I sent you? I mentioned in that that you could try changing a setting in the Belkin router to see if it did any good - changing VCMUX to LLC (or whatever it's called) might sort it out.

In any event, the Orange router should be a lot simpler to sort out!
