Default [Answered] Can't connect to other PC's internet activities

My other comp just recently started hosting network games for various games. However, though everyone in the public could enter his games, my computer can't seem to connect to it. I tried just connecting to him through LAN, and then joining his game from there, but that doesn't work either. The other comp is able to host through a 'portforward' site (or something like that).

Does anyone know what could be wrong with my connection?

Hello -[J1N]-, welcome to PCHF.

The only thing that I know that can cause this issue is the router. Some routers don't allow a loopback connection, BT routers for example. I know NetGear Routers can.

My router is a "2017-A", which i received when i joined up with my internet plan. I'm not too sure what a 'loopback' connection is, so I can't help a lot in describing the problem. Sorry about that.

It's where your connection needs to the server needs to go out, and then come back in on the same line in order to connect to the server. What model is the router?

Umm... I think its model is 2WIRE, and the make is 2017-A. It came with a Telstra BigPond DSL plan, if that might help.

2-Wire do make routers, but I don't recognise the 2017-A being one of them. If you can, try another router, preferably NetGear (only cos I know these work).
