Default [Fixed] Wireless network stopped working
Hi,

My brother's PC uses a wireless USB adapter to connect to my PC's router. It's been working fine until yesterday, and now his PC has no internet access. I noticed a "NETWORK CABLE IS UNPLUGGED" message, but the adapter is connected fine.

I've tried hard to fix this on my own, but no luck.

EDIT: The PC runs windows XP

Hi Rich,

Can do the following for me from your brothers PC:

- Go to Start, Run and type cmd
- From the command window, type ipconfig
- Right click on the titlebar of the command window, and go to Edit, Select All.
- Right click on the titlebar of the command window, and go to Edit, Copy
- Then Paste the results into Notepad or any kind of Word package.
- You'll need to save that document onto Disk or Pen drive and then transfer that to a PC you have an interernet connection with, or plug a network cable into your brothers laptop to gain access to the internet. I'll need you to paste those details back here.

Ok, apparently my brother's computer reformatted. So I need to reinstall the wireless adapter. The problem is, we might not still have the installation disk...

Shouldn't be a problem Rich, as long as we can find out the make and model of the wireless adaptor?

The PC has connection now. I downloaded the adapter's drivers from the web and everything is back to normal
