Hello jtjosh123, welcome to PCHF.

That is a question that has been asked many times on PCHF. Here is an example: http://www.pchelpforum.com/windows-x...etup-help.html

Sorry Jt, you said you search for the folder? The instructions describe how to type in the name of the folder you want to share with PC1, no searching involved?

Jt,

It may vary slightly between XP and Vista, but there's no need to look for it via My Network Places. You may need to alter some more network settings before you can see it here, but I'm assuming you would rather a perminent drive letter mapped to the disk drive on your PC?

Find out the IP Address of your PC, go to Start, Run, and type in cmd. From the command window, type in ipconfig which will give you your IP address. Right click on My Computer, and click on Map Network Drive. Select a drive letter and use the path \\IPaddress\Sharname (for example: \\192.168.1.3\myShare).

EDIT: Marked as answered.
