OK, now let me ask you this. XP or Vista? My Vista laptop seems to like to ignore my wired connection to my router until I disconnect from the wireless part.

Ok, if you goto Device Manager (Windows key + Pause) -> Hardware -> Device Manager
Under network Adapters, does it have a big yellow ! or a big red X ??

That's very odd.
I woke up this morning- booted up both laptops, and now both have connected to the Internet okay.
Could it actually have been as simple as restarting the router?
