so it can ping the desktop, but you can't get out to the internet, correct? What happens when you ping your gateway, 192.168.1.1?

yessir, deleted them all and still no go :/

if I bought a network card for my computer would it go throught he integrated network chip? and actually work?

Okay, so it says under Network Connections that I have an Internet Gateway, under it says
Internet Connection
Connected
Internet Connection

and then under that

LAN or High-Speed Internet
Local Area Connection
Connected
NVIDIA nForceMCP Networking Adaptor

is there a way to get rid of the gateway? I don't think that used to be there before...

hmm, I was able to remove the internet gateway, thought that would work but....

still having the same problem
