Default [Answered] ISP Difference

Hi again PCHF,
I have a query in respect to ISP addresses.

I have a cable/dsl router ( Netgear RP614v3 ) which the modem connects into, out of the router I have my two comps connected.

In the past we networked using the wizared set up with windows xp.No problems there.

Last night I loaded both comps up with Zone Alarm ( free version ) and trying to access either comps share folders etc was denied.

So after some reading i gathered that we could network the comps through Zone Alarm,I done a ipconfig on both comps and both showed different ISP numbers, so I added the ISP # in accordance to network by adding it in the trusted zone using the ISP # from the configs.

No problems we could then both contact each comp and access the folders etc.

Back to the question Is it right that both comps would show different ISP # and was that the correct way to network the comps,I ask this as after all seemed well, my comp slowed very much so.
However I did do something else seperate to the zone alarm setting up, so I have taken my comp back to factory settings ( again ) and the slow issue is resolved, I am pretty sure it was me ( again ) who caused the comp to slow.

Now I wish to load Zone Alarm on again and hoping that what I did in setting up was right.
If it is then I know I caused the slowing down of the comp.

Thankyou
