Default Router Issue

Hi everyone. You probably remember I used to be a mod here. Anyway, I'm back because I have an issue with my router.

I have a LinkSys WRT54GS (wired/wireless) router. Up until yesterday I've had no problems with it. I didn't change any settings, yet now I can't access certain sites (like ebay).

This is a router issue, not a computer issue, since if I plug directly into the modem everything works fine.

I've totally unplugged the router for a while, and tried again. I've also reset it, but nothing is working.

I'm hoping I won't have to buy another router. Any help is appreciated.

Nathan

Hey Nathan..good to see you

Do you have the original modem given to you by your ISP - I wouldn't mind seeing if it's a temporary ISP issue instead of a router issue.

Most Routers have a reset button on them-- trouble is --it resets back to factory defaults-- so you'd have to go through the whole setup thing again.
If that does not work, then --it's time for a new one.

@Nathan-- I'll defer to Hengis he's the network expert here.

It's the orginal ISP modem. As I said, if I plug directly into the modem (bypassing the router), everything works fine.

I also tried resetting the router.

Well I guess the only thing you can do is to remove all firewall and forwarding rules and see if that makes any difference.
