Default [Answered] wireless between windows xp and 98

Hi

I'm trying to set up a wireless network between a windows xp (not service pack 2) computer and a windows 98 computer. I've tried to read a few guides on the net but they all assume window's xp is being used and i'll be the first to admit i'm not brilliant with computers :/

I'm using BT business Hub to connect to the internet (which has wireless capability) and this is all set up on the windows XP machine. I'm hoping to configure and set up a wireless network between the windows 98 machine using a usb wireless adapter ( Netgear adapter) and my xp machine.

I'm unsure where to start so could someone please either walk me through this or offer a good newbie friendly guide

So can anyone help me out as to how i set up a wireless network

Hey best, how are you connected to the internet at the moment, you should be using a wireless router?

In that case you should be able to connect that to your hub to gain internet access for both.

Sorry for all the questions, but I'm trying to get a clear picture of how it is setup now, so that the instructions I provide you will work properly.

One more question, can you:
Hi flash,

From both PC's, can you do the following, and paste the results back here.

- Go to Start, Run and type cmd (if that doesn't work use command)
- From the command window, type ipconfig
- Right click on the titlebar of the command window, and go to Edit, Select All.
- Right click on the titlebar of the command window, and go to Edit, Copy
- Paste the results back here.
